An event every week that begins at 5:30pm on Wednesday, repeating until Mar 14, 2018
This class guides participants through the concepts behind tidal exchanges and currents, including how to integrate tide & current predictions into safe small boat trip planning. Experienced local kayaker Ed Alm provides strategies for making long crossings shorter and predicting the effects of the moon and weather on tidal and current patterns. Knowledge of tides and currents is an important safety concern for small-craft boaters in the cold, dynamic waters of the Salish Sea. Concepts taught in this class are applicable for all small boat enthusiasts.
