Bicycle Travelogue Series: Western Canada
Mar 20, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
In the summer of ’11 Sher Vidanska rode from Bellingham, down the Cascade Mountain Range to Crater Lake and then headed over to the Oregon coast and up around the Olympic Peninsula back to Bellingham, campng most nights. Hear about her trip and her work on farms through the WWOOF program (World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). This is sure to be an entertaining show from this singer/songwriter and author.
Contrasting with the coastal travel show, local cycle travel legend, Jim Legalley, will share his photos and stories of a several-week solo self-contained bicycle trip from Williston, ND through the mountain/prairie provinces of Canada in July/August of 2012. See photos of crossing Saskatchewan and Alberta taking in large cities such as Regina, Saskatoon and Edmonton in addition to Jasper/Banff/Kootenay National Parks. Travels included ferries across Kootenay and Arrow Lakes continuing into Kelowna/Merritt and down the Coquihalla Highway into the Fraser Valley back to Sumas.
Light refreshments will be served.
