Community Solar Panel Flotilla
Jun 27, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Join us on June 27th for a solar dedication at the Taylor Dock shelter, celebrating the Bellingham community’s work in support of renewable energy. Beginning at 2pm, solar panels will be delivered by bike and rowboat – traveling from Itek Energy’s manufacturing facility in Bellingham to be installed on the roof of the Taylor Dock boardwalk shelter. Once installed, the solar panel array will help power the lights on Taylor Dock. Following the delivery of the panels, please join us for a community dedication celebration.
The solar array is a gift from Puget Sound Energy to the Bellingham community – recognizing the community’s work in supporting the Green Power program, which helps residents and businesses match their energy with clean, renewable energy, generated in the Pacific Northwest.
Interested in supporting recreation and renewable energy? You can help pedal or paddle the panels to the dock! If you are interested:
Boaters should plan to meet at 11:30am, June 27, at Cornwall Beach
Bicyclists should plan to meet at 12:30pm at Itek Energy.
PSE will raffle off a bike from the HUB to one lucky cyclist or paddler.
