Introduction to Keelboat Sailing on Saturday/Sunday

You’ve seen the keelboats out on Bellingham Bay and have dreamed about getting out there… now this is your chance! Compared to dinghy sailing, keelboat sailing appeals to those who want a bit more stability and comfort on the water as well as the ability to go on extended trips and overnight away from home. There is plenty of speed and excitement on keelboats as well, as well as the ability to share the experience with a larger crew of friends! So whether you want to keelboat race or cruise, this class will prepare you with all the tools you need for a lifetime of keelboating.

The teacher to student ratio in this 12-hour class is 1 to 4, so you’ll get plenty of focused attention from our US Sailing certified instructors. We utilize the nationally recognized US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification, with the opportunity to advance your skills in additional classes.

This class includes a sailing assessment at the end of the course to determine sailboat rental eligibility (solo, with crew, green wind only, green & yellow wind).
