Jr. Ski to Sea

The Jr. Ski to Sea has been a beloved community event since its inception in the 1980’s. After a three-year hiatus, Whatcom Events assumed ownership of the race and reinvented the course to mimic the Big Race. The Jr. Ski to Sea Race is a youth (Grades 3 – 12) relay race that consists of skiing or snowboarding, running, mountain biking, and kayaking. The first leg will commence at the Heather Meadows Base area at Mt. Baker Ski Area with a virtual handoff to the remaining three legs at Lake Padden.
