Lake Padden is a tranquil body of water nestled in the wooded hills above Bellingham. It's a great place to fish or picnic, and the trails around it are perfect for mountain biking.
Soon visitors to Lake Padden Park will be able to rent watercraft to explore the shores and depths of Lake Padden. Yeager's Sporting Goods is teaming with the City of Bellingham to offer on-site rentals of kayaks and paddleboards starting June 15th.
Single and double kayaks will be available, as well as a variety of standup paddleboards. If you still haven't tried paddleboarding, you should. It's an interesting way to explore water - standing up gives you a whole different perspective.
Rentals will be available weekends from the 15th of June through August 31st. A rental booth will be on the swim beach below the west entrance of Lake Padden Park, adjacent to the bathhouse.
Fishing kayaks from Hobie and NuCanoe will be available for rent along with single and double sit on top kayaks and paddleboards.
