SK 150: Sea Kayak Skills Refresher

If you have experience sea kayaking, but it's been awhile and you just need a refresher on paddling strokes or rescue skills, this could be the class for you. The first two hours are spent familiarizing students with the kayak, basic paddle strokes and maneuvers, while the last hour is spent building confidence in the water practicing capsizing and self-rescue techniques with a paddle float. You'll leave this class energized and ready to get out on the bay!

Participants will spend about 50% of the time learning how to sail while the other 50% of the time will be designated for kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. Being out on the water when there is a full moon is great fun. The light of the moon makes it so you can easily see. Often, the moon either rises or sets while we are out on the water; when this happens we can often see bioluminescence when the moon is not in the sky.
